APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A ONE-TIME GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE NEW MEXICO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND CARE DEPARTMENT SERVICES IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTRAL REGION EDUCATION COOPERATIVE, AND PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DIVISION OF CHILD & FAMILY DEVELOPMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque has been selected by the Early Childhood Education and Care Department, in partnership with the Central Region Educational Cooperative to receive a one-time grant under the (24) Child Development Centers; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has been informed that the City of Albuquerque is eligible for $72,000 in State funds for the enhancement of (24) Child Development Centers outdoor child environments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque will apply for these grant funds for which City match funds in the amount of $0 City cash match and $0 City non-cash in-kind matching requirements and no IDOH.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the grant application for the City of Albuquerque Child Development Centers from the Early Childhood Education and Care Department, in partnership with the Central Region Educational Cooperative in the amount $72,000 is approved, and its acceptance and filing with the appropriate official of the Early Childhood Education and Care Department, in partnership with the Central Region Educational Cooperative is in all respects approved.
Section 2. That in the event this grant is awarded, state funds in the amount of $72,000 is hereby appropriated to the Department of Family and Community Services Division of Child & Family Development in the Operating Grant Fund (265), for Fiscal Year 2021.
Section 3. That funds in the amount of $0 from the transfer to Operating Grants Program of the General Fund are hereby appropriated to the Department of Family and Community Services Division of Child & Family Development in the Operating Grants Fund (265), beginning in Fiscal Year 2021, as a portion of the City’s matching requirements.
