Mayor's appointment of Mr. George A. Maestas to the Affordable Housing Committee

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the
Affordable Housing Committee in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Resolution
No. R-06-159, Enactment No. 2007-011.

George Maestas is the Assistant Director of Housing Development for New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA). George oversees the department's lending side, which works with affordable housing developers to underwrite gap financing for the construction and/or rehabilitation of multifamily apartment buildings for low-to-moderate income families. In addition to the three years he has worked with MFA, George has over 22 years of banking experience, with the last 15 specifically in commercial lending. In 2016, George achieved a Credit Risk Certification from the Risk Management Association (RMA). In 2020, he received a Housing Development Finance Professional Certification from National Development Council (NDC).
A resident of Council District 5, Mr. Maestas will serve as the Housing Lending Industry Representative on the Committee and he is replacing Ms. Shawn M. Colbert. His first term will expire June 1, 2023.
