RENAMING THE FOUR HILLS PARK IN FOUR HILLS VILLAGE TO THE ED BARSIS PARK AT FOUR HILLS VILLAGE (LOCATED AT RUNNING WATER CIRCLE SOUTHEAST AND STAGECOACH ROAD SOUTHEAST) TO HONOR EDWIN BARSIS, AN ESTEEMED AND EFFECTUAL FOUR HILLS VILLAGE LEADER WHO EARNESTLY CHAMPIONED THE FOUR HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE.
WHEREAS, Ed Barsis was well known for promoting Four Hills Village values in the Albuquerque community. Barsis wanted the best for Four Hills Village, following through with visions for a neighborhood park for children and families, creating mutual and healthy relationships with the Albuquerque Police Department, as well as improving the roads and grounds, and solving security issues; and
WHEREAS, because of Ed Barsis' devotion to building up the Four Hills Village reputation as a safe and desirable Albuquerque neighborhood, it is desirable to honor his memory and contributions. He worked to unify the neighborhood, working with State and local municipalities to serve Four hills Village; and
WHEREAS, Ed Barsis was creator and the first President of the Four Hills Village Neighborhood Association, pursuing a goal to preserve Four Hills Village as a secluded and remarkable neighborhood in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque, giving a voice to the residents and community who shared the same vision; and
WHEREAS, residents expressed a need for a park in the neighborhood, and Ed Barsis spurred the project of the Four Hills Vil...
