Renaming The Four Hills Park In Four Hills Village To The Barsis-Mickelson Park (Located At Running Water Circle Southeast And Stagecoach Road Southeast) To Honor Edwin Barsis And Roger Mickelson, Two Four Hills Leaders Who Earnestly Championed The Four Hills Neighborhood And The City Of Albuquerque (Harris)

WHEREAS, the Four Hills Village Association desires to rename the park to honor the memories of Edwin (Ed) Barsis and Roger Mickelson because of their devotion to building the Four Hills Village reputation as a safe and desirable Albuquerque neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, both Ed Barsis and Roger Mickelson were well known for promoting Four Hills Village values in the Albuquerque community. Both individuals wanted the best for Four Hills Village, following through with visions for a neighborhood park for children and families, creating mutual and healthy relationships with the Albuquerque Police Department, as well as improving the roads and grounds, and solving security issues; and
WHEREAS, Ed Barsis and Roger Mickelson inspired the Four Hill Village Neighborhood Association and Four Hills Village Homeowners Association to merge and serve the village as a unified force; and
WHEREAS, Ed Barsis was creator and the first President of the Four Hills Village Neighborhood Association, pursuing a goal to preserve Four Hills Village as a secluded and remarkable neighborhood in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque, giving a voice to the residents and community who shared the same vision; and
WHEREAS, residents expressed a need for a park in the neighborhood, and Ed Barsis spurred the project of the Four Hills Village park and continued efforts to provide a safe, child-friendly nearby area for families; and
WHEREAS, Ed Barsis' diplomatic contributions also expanded...
