APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION FROM DENNIS FRIENDS FOUNDATION AND PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE ANIMAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT IN FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027.
WHEREAS, the Dennis Friends Foundation wishes to grant the City of Albuquerque $100,000 to purchase veterinary equipment for the Westside Shelter Veterinary Clinic; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department will utilize the grant funds to purchase veterinary equipment that will be used in the Westside Shelter/Community Veterinary Clinic; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department desires to accept these funds, which require no City match or indirect overhead to support the purchase of the equipment.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the attached application for Dennis Friends Foundation for the amount of $100,000, and its acceptance and filing with the appropriate official or office is and in all respects approved.
Section 2. That upon approval, funds in the amount of One Hundred Thousand dollars ($100,000) are hereby appropriated to the Animal Welfare Department to purchase equipment for the Westside Shelter/Community Veterinary Clinic in the Operating Grant Fund (265) for Fiscal Year 2026/2027.
