Commission on American Indian and Alaska Native Affairs in accordance with the City
Albuquerque Ordinance 2-6-6-1.

Heidi is an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Nakoda and Dakota tribes in Montana. Heidi was born and raised on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana and came to New Mexico in 2008 to attend UNM Law School. After graduating law school and passing the New Mexico bar, Heidi has focused extensively on policy impacting tribes, including Indian education, tribal affairs, and education in general. Heidi has worked with the American Indian Law Center, the NM Indian Affairs Department, the Legislative Education Study Committee, the NM Public Education Department, and One Generation.
A non-city resident, Heidi MacDonald will be appointed on the Commission and serve as the education representative; their term will expire on October 1, 2026.
