Lynette Gassner is a third-year college student, professional musician, food service worker, researcher, and advocate for Indigenous rights. Hailing from the Din? tribe, with affiliations to the Tsi'naajini and Dibelzhini clans, Lynette draws strength from her cultural heritage and channels it into her pursuits. Lynette has over 10 years of experience in music and values the importance of music education and community engagement. She has served time volunteering to organize benefit concerts for marginalized Black, Indigenous, and People of Color music students, paving a way for access and opportunity. She has organized concerts at assisted living facilities at her high school. Now she serves on board of the Modern Music Guild, an organizing performance group at Oberlin College, where she books events and organizes workshops for modern music education. Lynette Gassner is an inspiring and dynamic individual, whose diverse experiences and unwavering commitment to social change make her a compelling figure.

A non-city resident, Mrs. Lynette L. Gassner will be appointed on the Commission and serve as the education representative; her first term will expire on October 1, 2026.
