ESTABLISHING LEGISLATIVE AND BUDGET PRIORITIES FOR THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE FOR THE SECOND SESSION OF THE 56TH NEW MEXICO STATE LEGISLATURE.
WHEREAS, the State of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque, a municipal subdivision of the State, are charged with providing for the public's health, welfare and safety; and
WHEREAS, the State of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque strive to create policies and programs to provide for just and equitable communities and often share missions, and work cooperatively, to provide citizens mental and physical health services, job and food security, a quality civic infrastructure and a thriving and sustainable economy; and
WHEREAS, many of the facilities provided by, and services offered through, the City of Albuquerque have a regional impact. These facilities and services benefit residents of Albuquerque, Central New Mexico and citizens from throughout the State. To succeed in acquiring the funds to construct and improve these amenities requires a joint effort between the State of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque; and
WHEREAS, in recent years the most urgent and critical issues impacting the City of Albuquerque, especially relating to behavioral health, criminal justice, public health, housing, education and economic development incentives require new state laws or amendments to existing laws for the City to be able to implement programs to address these concerns; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque is one community created through many neighborhoods that require continual investment. Efforts to fund these neighborhood project...
