Approving Two Awards From Bernalillo County Beginning In Fiscal Year 2023 (Peña, by request)

APPROVING TWO AWARDS FROM BERNALILLO COUNTY BEGINNING IN FISCAL YEAR 2023.

                     WHEREAS, Bernalillo County division of Behavioral Health Initiatives has awarded the City of Albuquerque $621,000 for improvements at the Westside Emergency Housing Center (WEHC) and $29,000 for equipment and materials at Family Housing Navigation Center (formerly known as the Wellness Motel); and

                     WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque wishes to make substantive improvements for residents of both locations; and

                     WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque wishes to accept the awarded funds.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

                     Section 1. That the $621,000 in Bernalillo County funding is hereby appropriated to the Department of Family and Community Services in the fund 265, operating grant fund, beginning in Fiscal Year 2023 and Fiscal Year 2024.

Section 2. That the $621,000 shall be used for eligible activities that include bathroom and shower facility repair, purchase of new beds, mattresses, and other amenities for utilization by guests of the WEHC.

Section 3. That the $29,000 in Bernalillo County funding is hereby appropriated to the Department of Family and Community Services in the fund  265, operating grant fund beginning in Fiscal Year 2023 and Fiscal Year 2024.

Section 4. That the $29,000 shall be used for eligible activities to include the purchase of equipment and materials for play areas and community meeting areas families and agencies can utilize to increase well-being and support healthy cognitive development of the children residing at the Family Housing Navigation Center (formerly known as the Wellness Motel). $10,800 will be allocated for IDOH.

Section 5. Authorizes the Department of Family and Community Services to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with Bernalillo County Manager to implement authorized activities.
