AMENDING THE ADOPTED CAPITAL IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE BY SUPPLEMENTING CURRENT APPROPRIATIONS FOR NEW FEDERAL FUNDS RECEIVED THROUGH THE MID REGION COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION AND THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.

WHEREAS, the Capital Implementation Program of the City of Albuquerque is governed by the requirements established under Section 2-12-4  ROA, 1994, which provides for amendments to the approved program; and

WHEREAS, additional appropriations are needed for the roads purpose to appropriate additional federal Grant awards to purchase and install intelligent transportation traffic signal equipment, for vision zero safety improvements to Louisiana Boulevard between Central and Gibson, and for complete streets improvements to Central Avenue between Sarracino Place and 90th Street; and

WHEREAS, a correction is required to the appropriation of federal funds for improvements to 98th Street and to De Vargas Road in R-22-83; and

WHEREAS, the appropriations of these funds to projects within their respective purposes are timely and necessary for the City to serve its citizens.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

Section 1.  That the appropriations are hereby made and/or changed in the Capital Program to the specific funds and projects indicated below for Fiscal Year 2023:

DeVargas Road Improvements: the scope of appropriations for the De Vargas Road Improvements is hereby expanded to include design and construction of the intersection of 98th and Benavides.
