Mayor's appointment of Mr. Morris J. Chavez to the Joint Air Quality Board

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Joint
Air Quality Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 9-5-1-3.

Mr. Chavez is an established professional with a valuable combination of administrative, regulatory and legal experience. Serving as an attorney since 1999, Mr. Chavez has previously served on many Boards and Commissions and participated in the administrative law process on many occasions. As a matter of fact, Mr. Chavez teaches Legislative and Administrative Process at the University of New Mexico School of Law as an adjunct professor. More specifically, Mr. Chavez has previously served as the hearing officer for the New Mexico Environment Department and served on the Water Authority Board many years ago.
A resident of Council District 2, Mr. Chavez will serve as a City of Albuquerque representative on the Board, and his first term will expire on April 1, 2024.
