Landmarks and Urban Conservation Commission in accordance with the City of Albuquerque
Ordinance 14-12-5.

Robert Bello is a historian and educator who has taught at both the University of New Mexico and the Central New Mexico Community College system and at Elmhurst College in Illinois. Bello is a homeowner and resident of the Fourth Ward Historic Overlay Zone in downtown Albuquerque where he has lived for almost twenty years. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, he has had a lifelong interest in architecture and the creation and use of urban spaces. He chose to live in the downtown Albuquerque area because he feels it is the most historically significant and architecturally dynamic area of the city. Bello is particularly interested in efforts to achieve the ideal balance between the preservation of historic architectural landmarks and the needs for infill and new construction. To this end, he has dedicated himself to community service. Bello served on the Downtown Neighborhoods Association Board of Directors for over ten years. During this time he headed the association's zoning committee. He also participated in the formulation and drafting of the Downtown Neighborhoods Sector Development Plan (SDP) which was ultimately adopted by the City of Albuquerque.
