Myra Ghattas, born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is the proprietor of Slate Street Cafe, Slate at the Museum and Sixty-Six Acres. Myra grew up working for her parents at Duran Central Pharmacy, a local, independent pharmacy and restaurant. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Sociology, Myra came home to and was hired as part of the opening team at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque and continued with them for fourteen years, working in major cities and holding various food and beverage positions. In 2003, Myra resigned as Food and Beverage Director at Hyatt Regency Burlingame to return home and pursue her dream of opening her own restaurant-Slate Street Cafe. Her strong work ethic and passion for food and wine were reinforced during her years in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Myra has served on several Boards such as Hautepreneurs, the Wells Fargo Community Board, and the Albuquerque Independent Business Alliance Board. She is a member of the New Mexico Restaurant Association, Albuquerque Economic Development, and the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau. She was awarded the Business First "Women of Influence" award in 2012. She actively gives back to the community and works to support local, independent businesses....
