APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF GRANT APPLICATIONS AND THE ACCEPTANCE OF POTENTIAL GRANT AWARDS FOR MULTIPLE TRANSIT DEPARTMENT PROGRAMS FROM THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (FTA) OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE TRANSIT DEPARTMENT.

                     WHEREAS, one of the goals of the City of Albuquerque is to support safe and affordable integrated transportation options associated with Goal 3 - Public Infrastructure on the City’s Five-Year Goals Plan; and

                     WHEREAS, in order to expedite the award and receipt of grant funding to Transit Department Programs, the City of Albuquerque Transit Department submits for approval the following list of potential awards; and

WHEREAS, potential grant funds in the approximate amount of $22,742,933 will be used to pay for various transit programs that contribute to safe and affordable integrated transportation options to the citizens of Albuquerque; and

WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque desires to appropriate these funds or has available City funds in the amount of $4,075,081 which consist of $3,935,769 from Transit Capital Implementation Program Fund 305 and/or the Transfer to Capital Grants program in the Transit Operating Fund 661 to the Capital Grants Fund 665, and $139,312 from the Transfer to Operating Grants Program from the General Fund 110 for the local match and includes the City’s portion of Indirect Overhead (IDOH).

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

                                          Section 1. That the list of estimated grant awards is hereby made a part of this resolution, is hereby approved and its submission and filing with the appropriate official or office of the respective granting agency is in all respects approved.

                     Section 2. That upon award, funds in the amount of $26,818,014 consisting of $22,742,933 in federal funds from the Federal Transit Administration which include $538,584 for IDOH, $3,935,769 from the Transit Capital Implementation Program fund 305 and/or the Transfer to Capital Grants program in the Transit Operating Fund 661 to the Capital Grants Fund 665; which includes $80,226 for IDOH, and $139,312 from the Transfer to Operating Grants Program from the General Fund 110 which includes $12,202 for IDOH is hereby appropriated to the Transit Department in the Capital Improvement Fund 665, and Operating Grant Fund 265, for Fiscal Year 2020 through 2022.

                     Section 3. In the event that the Department receives additional grants not listed below, the Department will be required to submit separate legislation.  The Department will also be required to submit the applications and awards for these grants to the Office of Management and Budget and the Central Accounting Office for review.

                     Section 4. That the following are potential grant awards with possible City IDOH and cash match requirements.

                     Section 5.
