Ms. Christine Glidden July 31, 2022 6105 Carousal Avenue NW Albuquerque, NM 87120 Christine Glidden enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in mental health as director of Employee Assistance Programs for Fortune 100 companies such as Johnson & Johnson and Lovelace Cigna with specialties in addictions and women's issues. Much of her job included conflict resolution, team building, diversity training, and monitoring and enforcing addiction treatment contracts for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. In the public service arena, Christine has enjoyed appointments to the N.M. Board of Nursing where she served as the first non-nurse Chair of the Board in it's 75 year history and later, to the N.M. Medical Board and the N.M. Arts Commission all at the pleasure of New Mexico Governors Johnson and Richardson. She has also served as Chair to the Boards of Trustees of the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History and the Albuquerque BioPark which is current. The Bernalillo County Commission voted to appoint Christine to the University of New Mexico Hospital where she recently stepped down after 7 years. Ten years ago to present, she has enjoyed the prestigious position of Honorary Wingman appointed by the Base Commander of Kirtland Air Force Base. In 2014, Christine founded and now volunteers for Women To Be, a 501c3, distributing washable sanitary pads to women in the world, including Nepal, Zambia, Mexico and more recently the Native American pueblos and tribes of N.M. These 'kits' keep girls in school and help them avoid child marriage and early pregnancy. In N.M., they provide a 'Plan B' when a woman cannot afford or does not have access to disposable products. In 2018, Women To Be hosted the King of the Bemba People of Zambia and his emissaries for a visit to N.M. He is the leader of 6 million tribal members. For this work, Christine received letters of recognition from U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich and Tom Udall, (then) Congresswoman Lujan Grisham, Mayor Tim Keller and the All Pueblo Council of Governors. Regional media was on hand to cover this monumental accord between sovereign nations. A resident of Council District 5, Ms. Glidden will represent her district on the Board and her first term will expire July 31, 2022. |
