Mayor's appointment of Mr. Nevarez Encinias to the Greater Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Greater
Albuquerque Bicycling Advisory Committee in accordance with the City of Albuquerque
Ordinance 14-13-3-6.

Mr. Encinias is a Soloist dancer in Yjastros: the American Flamenco Repertory Company, as well as an adjunct instructor in UNM's Dept. of Theatre and Dance and a faculty member at the National Institute of Flamenco's Conservatory of Flamenco Arts. He received a BA in History of Art from Yale University in 2014 and a MFA in Dance from UNM in 2018. He is a proud resident of downtown Albuquerque and has lived car-free since 2018. Mr. Encinias comes from a family with a deep commitment to the ABQ arts community and nonprofit sector, and he is himself a passionate educator, researcher, and organizer. In addition to bringing his passion for bike commuting to this Advisory Committee, Mr. Encinias will bring his close ties to local arts communities, his strong communication skills, and his eagerness to learn from like-minded individuals engaging in civic policy and planning efforts.
A resident of Council District 2, Mr. Encinias will serve as the South West representative on the Committee, replacing Mr. Daniel Majewski whose term has expired, and his first term will expire April 1, 2023.
