Beckham Angelo Rivera is a lawyer, artist, and advocate who made Albuquerque his home in late 2017. Beckham currently serves as a Compliance Specialist with UNM's Office of Equal Opportunity, investigating civil rights concerns on campus. Before this role, Beckham was in private practice at Sunshine Legal LLC, a firm assisting in estate planning, family law, and probate, with a focus on low-income and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Beckham is a lifelong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and has worked with many LGBTQ+ organizations. He is currently a Co-President for the New Mexico LGBTQ Bar Association, a professional group for LGBTQ+ lawyers and allies, and the Vice-Chair for Casa Q, an organization providing safe living options for LGBTQ+ youth experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In his spare time, Beckham loves to hike, study music, and play with his cat, Grimaldi.

A resident of Council District 7, Mr. Rivera will serve as an At Large representative on the Board, replacing Mr. Michael Jefferson whose term has expired, and his first term will expire December 31, 2023.
