title

Revising The Reporting Requirements Regarding The Efforts Of The Homeless Coordinating Council (Bassan)

body

WHEREAS, On June 29, 2020, The City Council approved Resolution R-20-72, which authorized support for a Memorandum of Understanding with Bernalillo County and the University of New Mexico for the creation and operation of the Homeless Coordinating Council (HCC); and

WHEREAS, Section 4 of R-20-72 required that “the City of Albuquerque shall provide periodic reports to the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Government Commission (ABCGC) on the efforts and recommendations of the HCC”; and

WHEREAS, ABCGC meetings are normally held monthly, but in some cases may be cancelled or postponed depending on the volume of pending action items and presentations within its purview; and

WHEREAS, the intent of the reporting requirement for the HCC was to keep members of the ABCGC, and City Council, abreast of its efforts and recommendations; and

WHEREAS, no presentations have been made to the ABCGC since the adoption of R-20-72; and

WHEREAS, it is timely and appropriate to inform the members of the ABCGC and City Councilors of the HCC’s recommendations as they decide on policies and budget appropriations for the Gateway Facility/Facilities and the Crisis Triage Center.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:

SECTION 1.  That Section 4 of Resolution R-20-72 (Enactment No. R-2020-073) is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2.  The City of Albuquerque shall provide monthly reports to the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Government Commission on the efforts and recommendations of the HCC. In the event that a monthly Commission meeting is cancelled, the report shall be made to the City Council at its next scheduled meeting.
