Amending Appropriations For The Coronavirus Support And Recovery Program.
WHEREAS, on March 11, 2020, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham issued
Executive Order 2020-004, Order Declaring a State of Public Health Emergency
relating to the spread of COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, in subsequent weeks the New Mexico Department of Health
issued orders limiting public gatherings and requiring non-essential
businesses to close or limit business activity; and
WHEREAS, through Resolution R-20-30 the City Council reallocated unused General Fund appropriations to create the Coronavirus Community Support and Recovery Fund (the "Fund"); to be used for COVID-19 needs, including but not limited to grants to non-profits providing food, shelter, and health services for low income and at-risk residents whose economic situation has been negatively impacted by the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, through Resolution R-20-45, the City Council approved the recommendations of award for the Fund as submitted by the Coronavirus Community Support and Recovery Oversight Committee; and
WHEREAS, two of the organizations previously awarded a grant under the CCSR program ultimately did not accept their awards; and
WHEREAS the Coronavirus Community Support and Recovery Oversight Committee recommends reallocating the returned funds to supplement awards for other participant organizations.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. The recommendations of award for the Corona Community Support and Recovery Program approved by Council Resolution R-20-45 are hereby amended as follows:
