Mayor's Appointment of Ms. Kaatje E. Van Der Gaarden to the Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Council

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the
Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Council in accordance with the City of Albuquerque
Ordinance 2-6-5-1; 2-6-5-5.

Ms. van der Gaarden is a Physician Assistant, writer, TEDx speaker and disability advocate. She serves on the Board of her HOA, where as President she oversees and executes complex projects. Ms. van der Gaarden has a strong technical background from her years at New Mexico Tech and her Industrial Design classes, and brings attention to projects that immediately improve operator experience while staying within budget.
A resident of Council District 2, Ms. Van Der Gaarden will fill a vacancy on the Board and serve as an Individual with a Disability representative. Her first term will expire October 30, 2023.
