ESTABLISHING FEDERAL PROGRAMMING AND POLICY PRIORITIES FOR THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE FOR FEDERAL FISCAL YEAR 2021.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque and the Government of the United States of America share goals, missions and responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, the City for generations has either partnered with and or sought to work with the Federal Government on projects and programs that improve the health, welfare and safety of the people of the United States; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest, and the desire of, the City of Albuquerque for the Federal Government to continue with and expand programs that assist local governments to improve public safety, behavioral and public health, housing, indigent care, services for the disabled, protecting the natural environment, improving and maintaining critical infrastructure, and helping foster sustainable economic development; and
WHEREAS, on April 20, 2020 the City Council passed Resolution R-20-36, Urging The United States Congress To Amend Or Enact Provisions Of The Cares Act To Allow For Reimbursement To Local Governments For The Recapture Of Lost Revenues Due To The Corona Virus Pandemic.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. The City of Albuquerque urges the United States Congress to amend or enact provisions of the CARES Act, or enact other legislation, that will allow for reimbursement to local governments to recapture lost revenues due to the Corona Virus Pandemic.
