APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF FY2020 - 2018 GO BONDS FROM THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES/ALBUQUERQUE/BERNALILLO COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM, AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CULTURAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT IN FISCAL YEAR 2020.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque has as one of its goals to promote the educational and cultural development of the widest possible spectrum of individuals in the community; and
WHEREAS, the FY2020 - 2018 GO Bonds for Public Libraries/Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Library System, if accepted, will enable the Albuquerque Public Library to fulfill this goal through New Mexico State Library to provide supplementary popular reading materials for Albuquerque citizens; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purpose, in the amount of $1,170,480 have been appropriated by the New Mexico Legislature through the New Mexico State Library; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque is eligible to receive these funds.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. That the attached Purchase Order in the amount of $1,170,480 is hereby approved, and its submission and filing with the appropriate official or office of the New Mexico State Library is in all respects approved.
SECTION 2. That upon approval, funds in the amount of $1,170,480 consisting of $1,170,480 from the State of New Mexico are hereby appropriated to the Cultural Services Department for the Capital Implementation Program (305) for fiscal year 2020.
