I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the
Arts Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 10-5-3.

Ms. Chavez earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Printmaking and has completed graduate work in Art History. She has served on the ABQ Museum Foundation Board and Albuquerque Museum Board of Trustees. She was a founding Advisory Board member of the United Way's Center for Nonprofit Excellence, and she and her husband co-chaired the 2006 Quality of Life Initiative. A small business owner, Ms. Chavez has owned her own fundraising, strategic planning and event production company for 30 years, and through her work with Wells Fargo Bank and Don Chalmers Ford has been at the forefront in our community supporting and helping to build the capacity of non-profit organizations.
Ms. Chavez will serve as the Council District 5 representative on the Board, replacing Ms. Alaina Wiwi, whose term has expired. Her first term will expire July 31, 2022.
