Ms. Adena Martinez holds a BA in Sociology with a minor is Psychology from the University of New Mexico. Despite suffering from Cerebral Palsy, Ms. Martinez believes that it is very important for her to participate actively in her community and to help make a positive difference in the lives of others. In addition to working with the Albuquerque Journal on their Sales team, Ms. Martinez has extensive volunteer experience. She worked with the Mathu Berry Wheelchair Sports Camp from 2001-2014, in which time she was responsible for promoting the event, requesting donations, and participated in the annual fundraising event each June. Ms. Martinez aspires to work within the Social Services field to help families in need and to use her knowledge and skills obtained through education and life experiences.

Ms. Martinez resides in District 3 and will replace Ms. Lisa A Mcniven as an individual with a disability on the Council. Her term will expire October 30, 2021.
