Reappointment of Ms. Valerie St. John to the Police Oversight Board

Pursuant to the provisions of §9-4-1-5 of the Police Oversight Ordinance, City Council staff shall submit recommendations for appointments to the Police Oversight Board. If a member is eligible for reappointment, staff may suggest reappointment of that member without a formal application process and the City Council may reappoint accordingly.
City Council staff recommends the reappointment of Ms. Valerie St. John to the Police Oversight Board.

Ms. Valerie St. John is currently self-employed with V. St. John Investigations, performing pre-employment background checks, contract work for an immigration and self defense attorney, among other legal and investigative duties. Ms. St. John previously worked in the District Attorney’s Office as a Prosecution Assistant. Ms. St. John’s community activities have included serving as President of Spruce Park Neighborhood Association, volunteering at Catholic Charities, and membership of the Cesar Chavez Committee. Ms. St. John completed a partial term; this will be her first full term which will expire February 2, 2022.
