APPROVING THE ATTACHED GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE FY2019 FIRE PROTECTION GRANT WITH THE NEW MEXICO STATE FIRE MARSHAL’S OFFICE AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ALBUQUERQUE FIRE RESCUE IN FISCAL YEAR 2019.
WHEREAS, the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office is distributing funds to eligible entities; and
WHEREAS, the Albuquerque Fire Rescue will use this grant to purchase fire apparatus equipment to provide better cancer prevention measures and to help create a successful flash hood exchange program; and
WHEREAS, grant funds in the amount of $89,825 for this purpose are available to the City of Albuquerque from the FY2019 Fire Protection grant; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque desires to accept these funds, which require a $9,980 cash match and is available in the General Fund.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the application with the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office for the amount of $89,825 in State Funds is hereby approved, and its acceptance and filing with the appropriate official or office is and in all respects approved.
Section 2. That funds in the amount of $99,805, consisting of $89,825 in State monies from the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office and a $9,980 cash match from Transfer to Operating Grants Fund (265) program in the General Fund (110), are hereby appropriated to the Albuquerque Fire Rescue in the Operating Grant Fund 265 for Fiscal Year 2019.
