CALLING FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE DISPOSITION OF LAND HELD FOR SALE IN THE PERMANENT FUND FOR ACQUISITION AND MANAGEMENT OF OPEN SPACE.
WHEREAS, Council Resolution R-82-67, Enactment No. 41-1982, established a permanent fund for the acquisition and management of open space land from the proceeds of the sale of lands acquired by the City through a land trade with the United States government for its inclusion in the Cibola National Forrest; and
WHEREAS, Since the establishment of the permanent fund for the acquisition and management of open space land, the City has acquired various land holdings throughout New Mexico through land swaps and other transactions with the intent of selling or trading the lands, with such lands having an approximate appraised value of $10 million upon last appraisal in years 2005 through 2007.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. That the Council Services Department shall complete a feasibility study, through a contract with a third party consultant, to determine the potential for sale of the Open Space land holdings, the amount of the proceeds that might be realized, the relative value of such proceeds toward the acquisition of open space within the City of Albuquerque, and other associated relevant information and guidance.
SECTION 2. That an amount not to exceed $30,000 is hereby designated within the Council Projects activity to be used by the Council Services Department for the completion of this study. The Director of Council Services is hereby authorized to enter into a...
