AUTHORIZING A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM AND PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque has been selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to receive a long-term grant under the Early Head Start Program; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has been informed that the City of Albuquerque is eligible for two million, seven hundred eighty five thousand, eight hundred twenty two dollars ($2,785,822) in Federal funds for the year of this program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque will apply for these grant funds for which City match funds in the amount of six hundred ninety six thousand four hundred fifty four dollars ($696,454) will meet matching requirements associated with this grant.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. Exhibit "A", a grant award for Federal Assistance under the Early Head Start Program for early childhood development activities is hereby approved.
Section 2. That the Mayor is further authorized to execute a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for said activities and to do all things necessary and proper to implement the program.
Section 3. That funds in the amount of two million, seven hundred eighty five thousand, eight hundred twenty two dollars ($2,785,822) consisting of grant funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services of which one hundred twenty five thousand three hundred...
