APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF A SECTION 5307 GRANT AMENDMENT WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION OF THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO ABQ RIDE.
WHEREAS, Transit Technology, Vehicles, Inspections and Debt Service, Transit Facility Rehabilitation and Park and Ride Facility Development are projects identified in Fiscal Year 2010 of the 2010 - 2015 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and are in need of Section 5307 funding; and
WHEREAS, authorized Section 5307 funding for public transportation projects is apportioned on an annual basis and the Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration has been delegated the authority by the Secretary of the U. S. Department of Transportation to make grants for the apportioned funding; and
WHEREAS, the Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation has made federal funds available to the City of Albuquerque in the total amount of $6,426,250 for these projects; and
WHEREAS, the above projects support the desired community condition for safe and affordable integrated transportation options associated with Goal 3 on Public Infrastructure of the City's Five-Year Goals Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to apply for these funds and City funds in the total amount of $1,404,250, consisting of $317,100 from Capital Acquisition Fund 305 Project Activity 7507040 “Transit Technology Upgrade,” $917,150 from Capital Acquisition Fund 305 Project Activity 7507010 “Revenue Vehicle Replacement/Expansion,” $20,000 from Cap...
