Amanda Sofio is a lifelong Albuquerque resident committed to advancing equity, accessibility, and inclusion across city systems. She works as an advocate and resource specialist at a local nonprofit, supporting individuals with disabilities and helping them navigate community resources. Her work is rooted in creating more accessible environments where all people feel valued and supported.
Amanda is currently pursuing a master's degree in social work at New Mexico Highlands University, with a focus on inclusive community development. She is particularly passionate about improving the public transportation system so that all residents-regardless of ability-can navigate the city safely, comfortably, and with dignity. Amanda looks forward to bringing her lived experience, professional background, and policy interests to the Transit Advisory Board to help build a more connected and inclusive Albuquerque.
A resident of City Council District 7, Ms. Amanda Rose Sofio will continue to serve as an At-Large representative on the Board; their first full term will expire on September 30, 2028.
