Mrs. Estrada-Bustillo is a retired natural resource manager who worked more than 20 years for the Forest Service overseeing programs in forest management, watershed management, wildlife, recreation, fire and fuels, range, lands, and archeology. She earned a Master's Degree in Forest Management in 1993. She later worked in the International Forestry Branch of the Forest Service, overseeing Bi-National Forestry Programs between the United States and Mexico. She also ran Estrada Collaborative Resource Management from 2008 to 2018, working with government agencies and communities to improve watershed health across the state. Since retiring in 2018, she has supported grassroots community organizations and continues to serve on several boards and committees. She is fluent in Spanish and volunteers with Water Advocates on issues related to the Rio Grande Compact.
A resident of Council District 8, Mrs. Vicky G. Estrada-Bustillo will replace Mr. Darrell Kundargi and serve as the City representative on the Board; her first term will expire on August 18, 2028.
