Alana Giselle Banks is a governance professional, finance specialist, and legal services executive with over ten years of experience across public boards, nonprofit leadership, and organizational strategy. She has served four years as a trustee for the Decatur Public Library, contributing to finance, policy, and facilities oversight, and participating in long-term strategic planning. Alana also brings experience in public education governance as an elected school board member, where she supported superintendent selection, labor negotiations, and budgetary decision-making. Professionally, she is the Founder and Managing Paralegal of Bond & Ligon International, providing multi-jurisdictional legal support services. Her work centers on equitable access to information, strong public institutions, and community-driven outcomes.
A resident of Council District 2, Ms. Alana Banks will replace Mr. Larry P. Hinojos and serve as an At Large representative on the Board; her first term will expire December 31, 2028.
