Conor McCafferty is a professional engineer, public servant, and disability advocate who recently relocated to Albuquerque. As a power-wheelchair user living with spinal muscular atrophy, he has navigated barriers in the built environment, healthcare, transportation, and public services throughout his life. His background in engineering and public service gives him a practical framework for evaluating accessibility problems and identifying workable solutions. McCafferty is seeking appointment to the ADA Advisory Council to help the city improve accessibility and inclusion across its facilities, programs, and services. He brings both a newcomer's outside perspective on Albuquerque's infrastructure and firsthand experience with disability access issues. This combination of professional expertise and lived experience supports the council's work expanding participation for residents with disabilities.
A resident of District 2, Dr. Conor McCafferty fill a vacancy and serve as an Individual with a Disability Representative on the Council; their first term will expire on October 30, 2027.
