RESOLUTION

APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUBGRANTS AND PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, funds of $24,000 are available to the City under the National Historic Preservation Act from the Secretary of the Interior through the State Historic Preservation Division to provide for historic preservation activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque is desirous of applying $12,000 of these funds to conduct a project to inventory and prepare documentation of the East End Addition's architectural resources; and
WHEREAS, a documentation of these resources will benefit Albuquerque by establishing a foundation for future preservation planning; and
WHEREAS, successful registration of the East End Addition as a Historic District would make renovation and investment tax credits available to more property owners; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque is desirous of applying $12,000 of these funds to conduct a project to inventory and prepare documentation of the Lewis and Simonds Addition's architectural resources; and
WHEREAS, a documentation of these resources will benefit Albuquerque by establishing a foundation for future preservation planning; and
WHEREAS, successful registration of the Lewis and Simonds Addition as a Historic District would make renovation and investment tax credits available to more property owners; and
WHEREAS, the sub-grant has no required match by the City of Albuquerque.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
ALBUQUERQUE:
