Providing An Appropriation To The Department Of Health, Housing & Homelessness For 2026 U.S. Department Of Housing And Urban Development (HUD) Entitlement And Workforce Housing Trust Funds (Rogers, by request)

WHEREAS, the Department of Health, Housing & Homelessness solicited public input in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Citizen Participation Plan and made recommendations on how the City of Albuquerque can meet community development, public service, affordable housing, and homeless intervention needs, and those recommendations were incorporated into the 2023 - 2027 Consolidated Plan which was adopted as Resolution R-23-115; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Health, Housing & Homelessness developed the 2026 Action Plan and Program Investment Summary for the allocation of funds received in Program Year 2026 that is consistent with the Consolidated Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City has been allocated funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amounts of $4,395,720 in CDBG, $1,957,085 in HOME, and $371,047 in ESG.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
Section 1. That the attached 2026 Action Plan, including the 2026 CDBG, HOME, and ESG Investment Summary included as "Exhibit A" is hereby adopted.
Section 2. That upon notification of a grant award by HUD, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement and take all necessary and appropriate steps to implement the grant program.
