City of Albuquerque Vision Zero Year-in-Review/Action Plan Update

The Department of Municipal Development houses the City’s Vision Zero program, which is working toward reducing and eventually eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2040. Staff worked with consultants who have expertise in traffic safety and an understanding of best practices for Vision Zero work to complete an update to the Vision Zero Action Plan called the Year-In-Review (YIR)/Vision Zero Action Plan Update. The YIR/Action Plan Update provides a summary of the progress made in implementing Vision Zero and it uses a data-driven approach to incorporate national best practices and to prioritize the thematic goals, actions, and corridors where the City should first focus its traffic safety efforts to have the greatest impact to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries.
