APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF 2022 GO BONDS FROM BERNALILLO COUNTY FOR THE EXPLORA MUSEUM’S BRILLANTE EARLY LEARNING CENTER, AND PROVIDING FOR AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ARTS & CULTURE IN FISCAL YEAR 2025.
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque has as one of its goals to promote the educational and cultural development of the widest possible spectrum of individuals in the community; and
WHEREAS, the 2022 Bernalillo County GO Bonds for the Explora Museum’s Brillante Early Learning Center, if accepted, will enable the Explora Museum to fulfill the goal to design and construct New Mexico’s only museum-based STEAM education center - Brillante Early Learning Center; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purpose, in the amount of $525,000 have been appropriated by Bernalillo County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque is eligible to receive these funds.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF
ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. That the attached Purchase Order in the amount of $525,000 is hereby approved, and its submission and filing with the appropriate official or office of Bernalillo County is in all respects approved.
SECTION 2. That upon approval, funds in the amount of $525,000 consisting of $525,000 from Bernalillo County are hereby appropriated to the Department of Arts & Culture for the Capital Implementation Program (305) for fiscal year 2025.
