RESOLUTION

APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE STATE CULTURAL PROPERTIES RESTORATION FUND.

WHEREAS, funds of $250,000 are potentially available to the City under the New Mexico State Cultural Properties Restoration Fund; and

WHEREAS, the City of Albuquerque could utilize these funds for the stabilization of smaller Rail Yards buildings; and

WHEREAS, stabilization of rail yards buildings will benefit Albuquerque by preparing buildings for future preservation planning; and

WHEREAS, the grant has no required match by the City of Albuquerque.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF

ALBUQUERQUE:

Section 1. That approval be granted to apply for the New Mexico State Cultural Properties Restoration Fund in the amount $250,000 in federal funds has been offered by the State Historic Preservation Office.

Section 2.  SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, paragraph, sentence, clause, word, or phrase of this resolution is for any reason held to be invalid or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this resolution. The Council hereby declares that it would have passed this resolution and each section, paragraph, sentence, clause, word or phrase thereof irrespective of any provisions being declared unconstitutional or otherwise invalid.
