Melani Buchanan Farmer, PhD is an educator, nonprofit leader, and community advocate in Albuquerque. She is the founder of Running 505, a youth mentorship nonprofit that promotes positive development through running and community engagement, and the owner of BFit505, a fitness gym focused on health and community wellness. With over a decade of experience in education, Melani is dedicated to strengthening volunteerism, mentorship, and opportunities that support youth and families across Albuquerque.
I would like to continue to serve on the Albuquerque Volunteers Advisory Board because I believe strong communities are built through meaningful service and connection. Through my work with youth, schools, and community programs, I've seen how volunteerism creates opportunities, strengthens relationships, and supports positive outcomes for families across Albuquerque. I'm excited to help expand volunteer opportunities and encourage more people to get involved in supporting our community.
A resident of Council District 4, Melani Buchanan Farmer, PhD will continue to serve as an At Large Representative; their second term will expire on April 18, 2029.
