APPOINTEE NAME TERM Ms. Kayla Hynes May 1, 2025 Albuquerque, NM 87120 Kayla Hynes is an involved Junior at Volcano Vista High School. She has shown her passion and dedication to her school by holding various leadership positions such as: Student Council Junior Class Secretary, Best Buddies President, Math Honor Society President, DECA Director of Leadership, Science Honor Society Treasurer, Captain of the Varsity Girls Golf Team, and National Honor Society Senior Secretary. These roles have given her experience in planning events, staying organized, and being an inspiring leader. Beyond school, she has held a seasonal job at Leslie's Pool Supplies, is on the Student Board of Directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and has volunteered throughout Albuquerque with organizations like Presbyterian, Roadrunner Food Bank, and the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation. She is constantly looking for new ways to improve her community as well as gain new skills. Kayla has also proven her intelligence through maintaining a 4.4 GPA and currently being ranked 6/506 in her class. She has scored in the top 1% of students on the SAT test, and will be named a National Merit Scholar this fall for her top 1% performance on the PSAT test. Kayla is organized, passionate, and intelligent. She has had numerous academic, extracurriculars, professional, and volunteering experiences that would make her the perfect choice for the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council. She has lived in Albuquerque her entire life, and would love the opportunity to give back to and improve her city A resident of Council District 5, Ms. Hynes will fill a vacancy and serve in an At-Large position on the Board; her first term will expire May 1, 2025. |
