body
REQUESTING STATE SUPPORT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PILOT PROGRAM TO ESTABLISH A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND HOUSING RESOURCE DASHBOARD.
WHEREAS, behavioral health and housing stability are critical issues affecting the well-being of residents across the State of New Mexico, especially in Albuquerque; and
WHEREAS, Albuquerque, as the State’s largest City, faces significant challenges related to behavioral health, homelessness, and access to affordable housing; and
WHEREAS, the lack of centralized and accessible data has hindered service providers, policymakers, and community organizations from effectively addressing the interconnected issues of behavioral health and housing; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive behavioral health and housing services dashboard would serve as an essential tool to consolidate, visualize, analyze data, thereby enabling better coordination of resources and more informed decision-making; and
WHEREAS, such a dashboard would provide real-time insight into the availability of behavioral health services, shelter beds, affordable housing units, and supportive programs, ensuring resources are allocated to those in greatest need; and
WHEREAS, other municipalities across the country have successfully implemented similar systems, demonstrating improved service delivery and outcomes for vulnerable populations; and
WHEREAS, a pilot program in Albuquerque would serve as a scalable model for other communities throughout New Mexico, fostering a more equitable and efficient approach to behavioral health and housing services statewide; and
WHEREAS, the City has expressed its commitment to addressing these pressing issues but requires state-level support to implement and sustain innovative solutions; and
WHEREAS, investing in such a pilot program aligns with the state’s broader goals of improving public health, reducing homelessness, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
BE IT MEMORIALIZED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
