Mrs. Valarie L. Thietten March 1, 2027 Albuquerque, NM 87114 Mrs. Thietten is a retired zookeeper with 23 years of experience in the mammal department at the ABQ BioPark and six additional years working in the admissions department. Her extensive career at the BioPark provided her with in-depth knowledge of daily operations, animal management, and community engagement. For 23 years, she also served as the Union Steward for AFSCME Local 624, where she gained valuable experience in advocacy, collaboration, and policy development. Mrs. Thietten worked closely with the City of Albuquerque, BioPark leadership, and union administrators to develop and implement an education and certification program for animal care staff, demonstrating her commitment to professional development and operational excellence. Her unique combination of practical experience, leadership skills, and dedication to fostering growth within her field makes her an asset to this Board or Commission. She brings a collaborative spirit, a strong work ethic, and a passion for improving organizational outcomes. A resident of Council District 5, Mrs. Valarie L. Thietten will serve as the At Large representative on the board; her first term will expire on March 1, 2027. |
