I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Youth
Advisory Council in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 2-6-7-1.

APPOINTEE NAME TERM Mr. Makai J. Salazar 5120 Guadalupe Trail NW May 1, 2023 Albuquerque, NM 87107-3345 Mr. Makai J. Salazar is a junior at Valley High School and Forensics student at the Career Enrichment Center (CEC). Mr. Salazar holds a 3.8 GPA is on track to graduate with both a high school diploma and Forensics certificate. He cares greatly about his north valley neighborhood and community. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he built and currently monitors a neighborhood pantry that provides food and toiletries. He regularly volunteers at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, assisting staff with events, activities, and classes to promote Hispanic art and culture. During his free time, he enjoys studying cultures, traveling and practicing martial arts. Mr. Salazar believes that because of his experience, hard work ethic, and his passion for his community, he would be a valuable asset to the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council. A resident of Council District 2, Mr. Salazar will fill an At-Large vacancy on the board and his first term will expire May 1, 2023. |
