Mayor's appointment of Ms. Joyce Marie Gilbert to the Senior Affairs Advisory Council

I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Senior
Affairs Advisory Council in accordance with a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of
Albuquerque, County of Bernalillo, Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and the Village of
Tijeras.

Ms. Joyce Marie Gilbert December 31, 2028 Albuquerque, NM 87123 Joyce is a native of Albuquerque, born and raised in the Old Town district. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Community Health Education from the University of New Mexico; and a Master's of Public Health in Community Health Development from the University of Hawaii. She has been in the Public Health Service Industry for the last 48 years which includes Indian Health, Private Contractual Health, Private Practice , and Senior Health Care. The qualities that have been most refined by her public health service are her acute listening skills, her empathy and compassion, and her enthusiasm for the pursuit of health and well being. The experience that she has acquired is for "such time as this" where wisdom, understanding and expert council is required to face our challenges at hand. A resident of Council District 9, Ms. Joyce Marie Gilbert will replace Mr. Louis Carlentine and serve as a City Representative on the Council; her first term will expire December 31, 2028.
