Roman Varela is a lifelong New Mexican who has proudly called Albuquerque home for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Roman has nurtured a deep passion for nature since childhood, enjoying activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, stand-up paddleboarding, and rock climbing. He now shares his love for the outdoors with his two daughters, instilling in them an appreciation for New Mexico’s natural beauty. With a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and over 20 years of service with Bernalillo County, Roman brings extensive professional experience to his community efforts. A dedicated advocate for outdoor recreation, he is a frequent user of local trails and surrounding wilderness areas. He is eager to contribute his expertise and passion to the planning and development of current and future trail systems, ensuring they continue to serve and enrich the community he calls home. |
