I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the

Veterans and Military Affairs Advisory Board in accordance with the City of Albuquerque

Resolution R-01-325, Enactment No. R-2001-141.

Ms. Mary K. Hefferon                                                                  September 2, 2023 7100 Luz del Sol Place NW Albuquerque, NM 87114-3718  Ms. Hefferon is an Air Force veteran that was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in 2016. She fell in love with the Land of Enchantment, and now calls Albuquerque "home". She fulfilled six honorable years of active-duty service, and she continues to serve as a federal employee for the Department of the Air Force. Ms. Hefferon is also a mother, graduate student, and avid volunteer. She is the vice-president of Chapter 1201 of the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA), and she promotes and advocates for the Association and the Total Air Force to base leadership, elected officials, and the greater Albuquerque community. Her dedication on and off duty have exemplified the Air Force's core values, even after she has taken off the uniform. She has consistently demonstrated "sustained superior performance" as she has garnered recognition from multiple organizations spanning over her entire military and civilian career. She regularly tackles and leverages challenges for the betterment of any organization she's involved with, and has become a stalwart role model for chapter leadership. She has the experience and tenacity needed to help further the aims of the VMAAB.  A resident of Council District 5, Ms. Hefferon will fill a vacancy and serve in an At Large position on the Board.
