Ernie Esquibel is a strong advocate for individuals with disabilities, focusing on the blind community. Living with blindness for ten years, he understands the frustrations and challenges with transportation that the blind community faces daily. His experience as a volunteer has empowered him to communicate effectively with others. He serves the greater Albuquerque community with passion and empathy. As a Sunvan rider, he has built relationships with the drivers and administration. He paid $250.00 to the renowned poet, Dave Steele, The Blind Poet to write a poem about Sunvan, its riders, and drivers. The poem is inspirational and has been read at a previous PTAB board meeting. Ernie Esquibel is an asset to the community, and his volunteering to help others.
A resident of District 3, Mr. Ernie Esquibel will continue to serve as a Mobility Impaired Representative on the Board; their second term will expire September 30, 2029.
