Second and Third Quarters Fiscal Year 2026 IPRA Report

body

The Office of the City Clerk is pleased to provide its Second and Third Quarters Fiscal Year 2026 IPRA Report. The report will show the efforts and progress being made by the Office to address the exponential growth in public records requests, while also highlighting the emerging pressures reshaping that workload.

Most notably, the rise of monetized media requesters seeking body-camera and incident-based video from the Albuquerque Police Department. APD-related requests increased 32% over the same period last year. However, the Office continues to show steady closure performance, closing 42% of requests within 20 days. This positive rate is despite the underlying framework of the Inspection of Public Records Act continuing to strain under new demands.
