Repealing Ordinances Related To Boards And/Or Commissions And/Or Committees That Are No Longer In Effect (ROA 1994 ?? 2-6-3 (Information Services Committee), 2-6-13 (The Central Avenue Business Advisory Board), 9-1-1 (Commission On Alcohol And Substance Abuse), 10-10-1 (Balloon Fiesta Park Commission), And 14-5-6-10 (Appeals; Technical Standards Committee)); Adding A New Section 2-6-21-1 Et Seq To Create "The GAATC And GARTC Merging Task Force"; And Amending Selection Advisory Committee ? 14-7-2-3(A)(2) (Bassan)

WHEREAS, the Task Force conducted a review of existing boards, commissions, and committees and identified certain entities that have fulfilled their intended purpose, overlap in mission, no longer function, or no longer function in a manner consistent with their original mandate; and
WHEREAS, the Task Force further recommended dissolution, restructuring, or consolidation of certain entities to reduce duplication, improve coordination, and strengthen advisory effectiveness; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the actions set forth in this Ordinance are necessary and appropriate to ensure that boards, commissions, and committees remain effective tools of public governance and stewardship of public resources.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL, THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE:
SECTION 1. The "Information Services Committee", ROA 1994 ? 2-6-3-1 et seq., is repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. The "Central Avenue Business Advisory Board", ROA 1994 ? 2-6-13 et seq., is repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 3. The "Commission on Alcohol and Substance Abuse", ROA 1994 ? 9-1-1 et seq., is repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 4. The "Balloon Fiesta Park Commission", ROA 1994 ? 10-10-1 et seq., is repealed in its entirety.
