I am submitting for your advice and consent the following name for appointment to the Albuquerque Energy Council in accordance with the City of Albuquerque Ordinance 14-8-5-3.

Dr. Cliff Ho is Senior Manager of Advanced Renewable Energy at SB Energy, developing clean energy technologies and storage solutions for large data centers. He previously spent over 30 years at Sandia National Laboratories working on energy, water, and environmental technologies. A Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Dr. Ho's expertise spans energy efficiency, solar technologies, grid systems, industrial process heat, and technoeconomic analysis. From 2022 to 2024, he served as a Legislative Fellow in the Office of U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, advising on energy policy and authoring bills on grid reliability, nuclear waste management, and permitting. His honors include R&D 100 Awards in 2013 and 2016, the Asian American Engineer of the Year Award (2010), and the Outstanding Professor Award from UNM (1997). Dr. Ho holds a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and M.S. and Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, all in Mechanical Engineering.
A non-city resident who recently relocated to unincorporated Sandia Heights, Dr. Ho previously resided in Council District 8 for 30 years. Dr. Clifford Ho will fill a vacancy to serve as an At Large representative on the Council; their first term will expire on April 30, 2027.
