Alex Applegate is a long-time Albuquerque resident of over 22 years and a dedicated bicycle commuter with more than 25 years of experience riding in urban environments. With over 100,000 miles on the road, he brings firsthand knowledge of roadway conditions, safety challenges, and the practical needs of cyclists. Professionally, Alex works as an inventory demand planner, applying a detail-oriented and data-driven approach to problem solving and logistics.
He is also a collector of vintage steel bicycles from the 1970s and earlier, reflecting a deep appreciation for cycling history and design. As a long-time advocate for active transportation, Alex is committed to improving infrastructure and accessibility for cyclists across the city. He seeks to continue supporting Albuquerque through practical, experience-based contributions to transportation planning and policy.
A resident of Council District 2, Mr. Alex Applegate will continue to serve as the Northwest representative on the Committee; their second term will expire April 1, 2029.
